Hadi Hamoud, Chadi Abou Chakra, Fadi Zaraket, Ayat Hamdan

Abstract

This paper examines shifts in research interests and discursive trends in academic scholarship on Palestine through an analysis of thematic and methodological changes in scholarly production between 2010 and 2025. The study draws on a database of peer-reviewed journal articles and research papers in the field of Palestinian studies, in addition to research proposals submitted to the three editions of the Annual Palestine Forum. In total, the research team analysed approximately 20,000 academic articles. Methodologically, the paper employs cross-document content analysis alongside discourse analysis to trace the evolution of research themes, methodological approaches, and dominant framing narratives within Palestinian studies. The study also seeks to map the broader research landscape and identify patterns of shifting scholarly attention to specific topics over time. The paper concludes by highlighting the dynamics of change in research trends within Palestinian studies, contributing to a deeper understanding of the field's contemporary trajectories.
